an analysis was carried out on the carrier systems of Tazhong area

Tarim Basin.The result indicates that faults

fractures

unconformities

karst

and sandbodies are the fundamental components of the hydrocarbon carrier systems in Tazhong area.The plane distributions and vertical evolutions of the carrier systems vary greatly with different structural periods and different sequence boundaries.The effectiveness of the spatial arrangement of carrier system and hydrocarbon kitchen determines the hydrocarbon pooling in the area.Fractures and unconformities are well developed and act as the main migration pathways for hydrocarbon in the area.Tazhong area has the character of multistage hydrocarbon generation

and multistage hydrocarbon accumulation

with the late Caledonian

the early Hercynian

and the late Hercynian being the main hydrocarbon accumulation periods.
