Trace fossil Zoophycus is widely distributed in shallow marine limestones of the Datang Fm of Lower Carboniferous in southern China

and the Middle Carboniferous Benxi Group and the Upper Carboniferous Taiyuan Group in northern China.Study of Zoophycus is of great importance for understanding environments of coal formation

they are often found in Carboniferous sediments of the Yangtze and Sino-Korea platforms

belonging to shallower marine environment.In this paper

4 ichnosp.of Zoophycus were described.They are Zoophycussp.1 from Lower Carboniferous

Zoophycus sp.2 and Zoophycus(palaeospira)wudaensis Yang ichnosp

nov.from Upper Carboniferous.
