discovery-Qingnan Oilfield-was disoveried in eastern blocks of Dongying Depression.This seccess can be attributed to the following reasons:an exploration strategy shift from structural traps on slopes to lithologic traps in sags;a shift of understanding of sedimentary settings from deep turbidite fan to shore-shallow lacustrine;an exploration view turning from unfavorable migration zones to favorable migration zones;a change of understanding of sedimentary facies from beach-sandbodies of subsag-scale to local sand bars.These reasons all made the importance of new mindsets and open mindness to stand out in each critical step of discovering the field.However
