Abstract:
Abstract: Puguang gas field is a superlarge marine carbonate gas field in China featuring in deep burial, large thickness, strong heterogeneity, high H2S and CO2 contents and edgeand bottomwater. Gas reservoir engineering theory and methodologies, numerical simulation and economic evaluation techniques are used to optimize the technical policies for its development, including layer division, welltype selection, reasonable well spacing, well pattern, reasonable productivity, reasonable gas production rate, technical and economic limits of single well, control and impediment of edgebottom water advancing, prevention of sulfur precipitation and so on. A set of technical methods are formulated for optimizing technical policies of carbonate sour gas reservoirs and are applied to Puguang gas field. The rational technical policies obtained provide a solid basis for development planning and adjustment and effective development of this gas field.
