    JURASSIC TECTONIC SEQUENCES OF QAIDAM AND FORELAND BASIN EVOLUTION

    On the basis of the studies on outcrop sedimentary section,well logs and organic geochemistry of Jurassic System,2 types of Jurassic tectonic sequences showing the dynamic processes of foreland basin are recognized in Qaidam Basin.One is the tectonic sequence converted from elastic to plastic subsidence corresponding to the thrusting and loading of orogenic belt,another one is plastic resubsiding tectonic sequence corresponding to the plastic subsidence of basin basement.Jurassic System of Qaidam Basin can be subdivided into 8 tectonic sequences,the succession from Pliensbachian to Bajoeian includes 4 tectonic subsequences of the first type;the succession of Bathonian lower Callovian includes 2 plastic resubsiding tectonic sequences;the succession of upper Callovian Upper Jurassic includes 2 tectonic sequences of the first type again.The total Jurassic fill succession of Qaidam indicates that the basin underwent 3 evolution stages such as multicycle converted elastic plastic subsidence stage,plastic resubsiding stage and converted elastic plastic subsidence stage again.This evolutional process of the basin is closely related to the thrusting and loading of orogenic belt toward foreland zone.

    The formation of sedimentary basin is mainly related to the thermal and material convection of the earth interior,and that is the primary driving force causing the formation of sedimentary basin.The rise of the asthenosphere,the position of Moho and mantle plume are the indication of the mantle convection.The rheology boundary within the mantle lithosphere,the nature of the lithosphere,the intraplate stress and thickness,the sedimentary loading are the important geodynamic factors of sedimentary basin.

    Applying Kaiser effect as the basic principle of acoustic emission experiment to test core or outcrop samples is a new method of studying reservoir fractures.This method was used in the study of the buried hill oil pools in Liaohe Oilfields.It could not only distinguish effectively the fracture terms of the buried hill,but also could determine the fracture intensity of the reservoirs in the buried hill and their feature.The method is proved to be valuable in application.

    As waterflooding further advances,a new situation including the rise of water-bearing layer,the declining of oil production and the unbalance between injection and production has appeared in the production of the reservoirs in the Sanjianfang Formation.The oil wells located at the main river channel sandbodies are characterized not only by thick sandstone and better physical properties,but also by high initial production of single well,high recovery percentage of reserves and big decrease of reservoir pressure.The injected water flows towards the wells which have good physical properties,and the reservoir pressure decreases mainly along the extensional direction of the sandbodies.Most of the first and second order reservoirs,controlled by sedimentary cycle,developed in the middle and lower parts of reservoir group,that is to say,in the third or fourth subbeds.These subbeds have high fluid production and injectivity,which results in the water rising mostly in the single layer or direction.The variation of reservoir fluid production is closely related to water flood response,and the rise of ground water is the fundamental cause leading to the decrease of oil production in the main oil-producing areas.

    According to the discussion on numerical model of sedimentary basin,including the conception,the composition and the problenms remained in actual application of the modeling,it is proposed that,for different research objects of different structural grades of the basin,basin modeling must be different.This paper describes a numerical basin model within sedimentary cover of the basin,dealing with the composition of geological model,the derivation of mathematical model and the numerical solution.The main parts of the models include compressive diagenesis,geothermal field,geopressure field and geometrical variation of the basin.The paper also discusses the selection of key parameters,calculaton method and verifying of the models.

    It is obvious that the reservoir heterogeneity of the second submember of the second member of the Jialingjiang Formation in Tieshan and Leiyinpu structures in east Sichuan differs greatly.The reservoir porosity of the Tieshan structure isn't distributed evenly,reservoir density and stratification coefficient are high,the pores are in zonal distribution,the confining bed of the reservoir is not stable.As for the reservoir of the Leiyinpu structure,the pore layer is in lensing distribution,reservoir density and stratification coefficient are lower than that of Tieshan structure,its confining bed is stable.Pore sections of the both reservoirs are in the upper parts with good lateral connection,the confining beds are gypsodolomits.The meshed heterogenous models of the reservoirs indicate that they match well with the actural reservoirs.

    It has been proved by the study of stress models and core sample permeability that the permeability of rocks is closely related to horizental stress.The corresponding relation between rock permeability and horizental stress is usually influenced by lithology and rock texture.Following points must be taken account of:(1)choose proper stress model for particular rock in order to improve the correspondency;(2)choose log information which is sensitive to argillaceous rock so as to reduce the influence of the rock on the correspondence;(3)use high-resolution log information to improve the resolution of the permeability derived from the stress.

    The opening and sealing properties of faults are closely related to reservoir formation or destruction.Based on the coupling of pressure of fault surface and fluid pressure,a quantitative mathematical model of the fault opening and sealing is developed,and the fault sealing coefficient could be calculated.The factors influencing the fault opening and sealing properties include structural stress,strike,dip angle and depth of the fault,the lithology of each wall and fluid pressure.Fault sealing property decreases as fluid pressure coefficient increases,structural compress stress and Poisson's ratio decrease.The influence of dip angle and depth of the fault on the sealing property is controlled by structural stress.

    Oil-forming system is a specific phase of petroleum geology,which emphasizes the analysis of the genetic relation between effective hydrocarbon sag and hydrocarbon accumulotion.The rapid development of sequence stratigraphy has led to the applicatim of sequence stratigraphy to various stages of hydrocarbon exploration.The lithologic and lithofacies study derived from sequence stratigraphy has become one of the most important parts in studying the property of oil generation,reservoing and sealing covering.The framework of sequence stratigraphy provides significant information of strata correlation and sedimentary development for trap forming and hydrocarbon migration and accumulation.In the study of newly developed high resolution petroleum system,high-resolution sequence stratigraphy can provide a serious of important basic parameters such as bed correlation,reservoir physical analysis,the dynamic analysis of oil,gas and water.Sequence stratigraphy play an important role in petroleum system.

    There are two major factors that influence the correction and accuracy of interval velocity.One is the accuracy of reflection coefficient sequence used in interval velocity conversion;the other one is the accuracy of initial interval velocity.In application of vertical high resolution log data and lateral continuous seismic data,high accuracy reflection coefficient sequence could be obtained by establishing the initial model of reflection coefficient sequence.Use the interval velocity that calculated based on log data as constraint condition to obtain initial interval velocity of each channel in profile by scanning,the problem mentioned above could be solved well.

    Based on the macroscopic and microscopic analyses of mudstone caprocks sealing property of the first and second members of the Nenjiang Formation,the caprock is characterized by big thickness,extensive distribution.The caprock contains mainly micropores with low permeability and big specific surface area,thus forming uncompacted pore fluid superpressure and dense hydrocarbon sealing.Capillary sealing formed in the middle stage of the 3rd member of the Nenjiang Formation with the depth of 65 m;pressure and dense hydrocarbon sealing formed in late Mingshui Formation stage and the depth is 800 m.It is suggested that Qijia Gulong Sag belongs to grade-I sealing area with high capillary sealing ability,the northwestern part of Qiqihar belongs to grade-Ⅲ sealing area and the rest belong to grade-Ⅱ area.

    Fan delta sediments developed well in the northern area of Turpan Depression.The subaqueous distributary channel clastic rock bodies in the fan delta front formed the main part of the fan delta and the most important oil and gas reservoirs.The clastic rocks of the reservoir are lithic sandstone and lithic sandy conglomerate.The major components of the reservoir clastic rocks are fragmental materials of tuff and extrusive rock.The main kinds of diagenesis are compaction,hydration and hydrolisis,cementation.The diagenesis made the clastic rocks of fan delta front to be dense reservoirs with low porosity and low permeability.

    The depositional covers in the eastern Sichuan region could be classified into four layer gliding systems according to the differences in rock features,rock mechanic parameters,rock physical parameters and seismic reflective characterisitics.The Lower Cambriam,Upper Ordovician Lower Silurian,Upper Permian and Middle Lower Triassic Systems in the studied area are the major gliding systems.These systems are composed of mudstone,shales,gypsum and coal-beds,and characterized by low appearent resistivity competent,lower physical parameters,strong seismic reflective,lower appearant resistivity.The mechanical metamorphic and the rheologic deformation of the outcrops and computer restored balanced cross-profiles proved the existanc of the gliding systems.Combining it with petroleum geology,it is found that almost all glided layers are hydrocarbon source rocks and regional caprocks of gas and oil reserviors.

    Water flushing and biodegradation are the most important and most common cause of the formation of heavy oils.The degrees of water flushing and biodegradation mainly depend on the distribution of fractures and unconformities within a basin,the degree of the basin's post stage uplift and bottom water activifies.The first kind of heavy oil in Kenxi oil region,resulted from basin uplift and primary oil pool weathering,is characterized by high density,high viscosity,high content of sulphur and high solidifying point;the second kind of heavy oil,resulted from active bottom water and biodegradation,is characterized by high density,high viscosity,high content of sulphur and low solidifying point.

    The formation of the reservoirs of the second and third mumbers of Dengying Formation in Ziyang,Sichuan Province,is closely connected with lithological microfacies and their assemblages.The strata are composed of 12 kinds of lithological microfacies and 5 microfacies assemblages.Among them light micrite dolomite,sparry dolarenite,micrite sparry oolite dolomite and some stromatolitic dolomite,distributed in the middle and upper part of each microfacies assemblage,are favourable for the formation of the reservoirs.The high frequent overlap of the microfacies and their assemblages in vertical direction result in lots of thin reservoir layers.In lateral,Block-1 centering well Zi-3 and Zi-7 and Black-2 centering well Zi-4 have the best lithological microfacies and assemblages for the formation of the reservoirs.

    Errors of classification can often be found in manuscripts of scientific treatises and some times even in publications,which are focused on act in violation of the principal and the so called combined or complex classification.The causes of the errors are mainly:1 they did not grasp the rules and the methods in classification;2 they considered by mistake that the more types they classfied,the better results they would get,that is actually against the classification principal which starts form complication to simplification,and from disorder to system.This paper describes through examples that three logic regulations must be followed.It also analyses the error in so called “combined classification”,enumerates the methods for multi-factor classification,demostrates the flexible application of verious methods in classification,emphasizes that classification must reflect the essential attributes and properties of the study objects.
