Abstract:

Oil-forming system is a specific phase of petroleum geology, which emphasizes the analysis of the genetic relation between effective hydrocarbon sag and hydrocarbon accumulotion. The rapid development of sequence stratigraphy has led to the applicatim of sequence stratigraphy to various stages of hydrocarbon exploration. The lithologic and lithofacies study derived from sequence stratigraphy has become one of the most important parts in studying the property of oil generation, reservoing and sealing covering. The framework of sequence stratigraphy provides significant information of strata correlation and sedimentary development for trap forming and hydrocarbon migration and accumulation. In the study of newly developed high resolution petroleum system,high-resolution sequence stratigraphy can provide a serious of important basic parameters such as bed correlation, reservoir physical analysis, the dynamic analysis of oil,gas and water.Sequence stratigraphy play an important role in petroleum system.
