Abstract:

Ordos basin, located in the connected part of the western active belt and easternstable region of China, has gone through many episcdes of tectonic movements. The platform and geosyncline regimes of Ordos in earlier Paleozoic period were incorporated as a whole by Caledonian orogenic movement, and then uplifted and unified with North Chian platform in later Paleozoic. During Mesozoic, it gradually developed into an extensive intracontinental depression but uplifted again in Cenozoic with Hetao, Yinchuan, Lupanshan and Fenwei subbasins formed atound.
